Meet a Musician
On Monday, some of our Key Stage Two children were lucky enough to take part in a Meet a Musician workshop with some musicians from the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In this session, children learnt about what an orchestra is; how many people are in the BBC Symphony Orchestra (over 100!); where the orchestra travels; and what a normal day looks like as a professional classical musician. The children listened to the musicians play the violin and the viola; created their own song (they chose the theme of Tom and Jerry!); and had the opportunity to ask questions. It was a truly special and unique experience for the children and it has certainly opened our eyes to the many differing careers available to us.
